Blepharoplasty | FAQ’s

  • Is this a painful intervention?
Post-operative pain is relieved very effectively by level I analgesics (Paracetamol®). Applying ice bags protected by a cloth is very effective.
  • Is there is a risk to your eyes?
This intervention only touches the eyelids and not the eyeball. The conjunctiva may become inflamed, although this is rare and is very easily treated.
  • Are the scars visible?
On the upper eyelid, the scar is concealed in the palpebral crease and is easily hidden by make-up, which you can wear again after 7 days. The scar from a resection of fat pockets and/or a lower-eyelid lift is almost invisible since it is on the conjunctiva and/or just below the eyelashes.
